Interview with Mafalda Patrício and Rita Montezuma
To create a unique event that celebrates the creativity and talent of independent brands. This is the motto of Mafalda Patrício and Rita Montezuma the two influencers who are launching ÍMPAR Market this week.
On the 7th and 8th of December, Lisbon’s LxFactory will host the first edition of an event that brings together more than 70 brands in the same space.
Portuguese Soul spoke to the people behind this singular event in Lisbon.
How did the idea for the market come about?
The idea for ÍMPAR Market came from the desire to create a unique event to celebrate the creativity and design of independent brands. We wanted to bring together national and international designers who share values such as quality, sustainability and innovation, and promote an authentic and purposeful shopping experience.
What are the expectations for this first edition?
We expect to raise awareness of the brands we love and connect consumers with differentiated and creative products. We also want to offer more than a fashion experience by incorporating food and music into the space to inspire, surprise and create a community around the ÍMPAR concept.
What were the main challenges in launching the ÍMPAR Market?
The main challenges have been logistics and ensuring the curation of the brands that represent the diversity and quality of what we want to offer, while remaining true to our style.
All the brands here were curated by you. Can you let us into the selection process?
Yes, all the brands went through a curation process. We looked for brands that matched our style and shared our values of originality. We considered not only the quality of the products, but also the history and philosophy behind each brand.
Is it also a way to promote Made in Portugal brands?
Of course. The promotion of Made in Portugal brands is a cornerstone of the ÍMPAR market. We want to showcase the richness of local design and production and help these brands gain greater recognition in both the national and international markets.
How do you see the future of the event?
We see ÍMPAR as a biannual event that can grow to include new cities and even more original brands. We want to consolidate it as a meeting point for creativity and design lovers.
