He is one of those actors for whom adjectives feel redundant: his career speaks for itself. From theatre to cinema, from television to podcasts, Miguel Guilherme has done almost everything an actor can do. He has just finished shooting Joao Canijo’s new film, Encenação, which has yet to be given a release date. In it, the director once again assembles his “troupe of real wounds” — Rita Blanco, Anabela Moreira, Beatriz Batarda — to once again explore that vertiginous space where art and life bleed into each other. The protagonist, a man who cannot stand himself, is a character born of an intense, at time manipulative, creative process, as Canijo’s work has always been.
