A Place for Every Kind of Art in the Colourful World of Camila Senna

Words: Maria Martinho

She was born in Rio de Janeiro, but it was in Portugal that she consolidated her brand. Visual artist Camila Senna infuses colour, poetry, and tropicality into illustrations, ceramics and prints, combining art, texture, fashion and three-dimensionality.

Anyone who enters Camila Senna’s studio, which opened in 2024 in Porto, enters a rainbow of geometric shapes and possibi-lities. The walls are covered with colourful drawings; there are paints, brushes and lots of ideas to explore. Tests, exhibitions, workshops and creative events are all held here.

With a degree in product design, Camila Senna worked in print development, both for her own designs and for other brands, and saw painting as a form of expression. She was guided by a wave of colour, lightness, and movement to show how fashion intersects with art and Brazil’s exuberance blends with European contemporaneity, in a constant dialogue between cultures, references, and desires.

“The purpose of the brand is to rescue our playful and creative side, something that is often lost in adulthood. I believe that the world is too grey, and my mission is to bring vibrant colours, tropicality and poetry to everyday life, awakening joy and imagination within our homes”, she reveals.

Her artisanal and manual technique, done on paper, canvas, fabric or ceramics, takes time, care, intention, advances, and retreats. Each piece is born as a narrative fragment: it may be a memory, a place, or a sensation that takes on form, colour, or texture. Her output is organised into three main areas: original art prints, available in open or limited editions; artistic and utilitarian ceramics; and original works, such as canvases and larger-scale editions.

“Ceramics give me three-
-dimensionality, paper accommodates both drawings and prints (prints of my art), and fabrics allow my work to engage with fashion through prints. Sometimes I also resort to canvas, especially when I want to immerse myself in a freer and more intuitive creation. For me, art and fashion are languages that naturally intersect: art inspires patterns and illustrations, which come to life in fabrics and collections, while fashion becomes a moving canvas, which brings my creations into people’s everyday lives”, she explains.

In October 2025, Camila Senna launched her online store, shop.camilasenna.com, so that her creations could reach the whole world, but the world will always remain part of her original, distinctive and colourful work.
